It examines the purpose of regulation and the background to the events and behaviours which resulted in transfers of this magnitude. It expresses some hypotheses regarding what may unfold in the future and gives weight to the examination of roles that exist in institutions party to these transfers. It suggests some tasks that may be helpful as the sector pursues the next phase in its journey, perhaps with certain redemptive attributes in mind. date: 2015-05-07 date_type: published pagerange: 1-20 event_title: Bank Regulation : Too Much or Too Little event_location: iff, The Hall of the Patriots, Hamburg, Germany event_dates: 7th & 8th May 2015 event_type: conference refereed: TRUE referencetext: RD Blair & T Knight (2013) Compliance with Corporate policy : an economic approach, Managerial & Decision Economics, Vol 34, pp 529-537 D Gozman & W Currie ( 2014 ) The role of Investment Management Systems in regulatory compliance: a Post-Financial Crisis study of Displacement Mechanisms, Journal of Information Technology Vol 29, pp 44-58  Donald Palmer, (2012) Normal Organizational Wrongdoing, Oxford University Press.
